The Biogest Crown disintegration system provides digestion enhancement in the form of increased Biogas production and reduced solids for disposal after dewatering. The Crown system consists of a Homogenisor that renders the incoming surplus activated sludge (SAS) to a smooth consistency, The sludge is then pressurised using a 12 bar PCT pump before the sludge is blasted through a nozzle. This action ruptures the cell structure (cell lysis) which in turn releases endo and exo-enzymes. Once fed into the digester the sludge has greater enzymatic activity that leads to enhanced VS destruction improving gas yields by approximately 30% and reducing solids for disposal by approximately 20%. The system generally provides a payback within two years. Lease finance terms are also available.
