The Biogest Crown disintegration system can be used to provide a carbon source for oxidation tanks. The system disintegrates SAS before returning to the oxidation tanks. The result is additional carbon into the process eliminating the need for expensive imported carbon such as methanol. The system has been installed at Weisbaden waste water treatment plant in Germany and operational since 2003. Details of the performance to date are available in PDF format.
